During the early hours of Sunday, October 27, a fire broke out in a building in the Historic Center of Mexico City (CDMX), prompting firefighters to mobilize to control the flames and prevent them from spreading to other floors. In addition to extinguishing the fire, rescuers focused on evacuating people trapped in the building.
A woman, upon noticing the start of the fire, decided to return to the building to turn off the gas valves and prevent an explosion. Unfortunately, this action left her trapped on the seventh floor until firefighters were able to rescue her. Fortunately, the woman was unharmed and was attended by paramedics.
In addition to evacuating the woman, firefighters were able to save a pet. Cooling and ventilation efforts continued in the building after the fire was extinguished, while authorities investigate the cause of the fire to clarify what happened.
The fire originated in a storage room of the building "ArtesanÃas y Novedades Cristal," located on Isabel la Catolica street, in the Centro neighborhood of the Venustiano Carranza municipality. Despite the circumstances, the quick and brave actions of the rescuers prevented more serious consequences.
